ESPN Selects Desert Pines & Stallion Mountain as Regional Qualifying Courses
Las Vegas, NV - 6/1/2005 - The ESPN National Golf Challenge is an amateur two-person better ball tournament designed to find "America's Best 2 Some" in both Gross and Net divisions. Two-person teams from all over the US will register at Local Qualifying Host Sites and attempt to play their way to the National Finals.
In Las Vegas of the host courses the Desert Pines Golf Club will host on Sunday, June 26, 2005 and is open to the public. On June 19th, the Stallion Mountain Country Club will host competition for Members. Entry fee is $75, which includes a one-year subscription to Golf Magazine, 1 dozen Callaway HX Tour Balls, cart and green fees. Reservations can be made by call 388-4400, ext 2.
Teams may consist of any combination of male and/or female participants with a maximum allowable handicap of 24 strokes (in the Net Division). Players may attempt to qualify for the Regional Finals at as many Local Host Sites as they wish. Gross and Net winners from each Regional Finals location will advance to the 36 hole National Finals in Las Vegas, November 14th and 15th, 2005, at the Bali Hai and Royal Links Golf Clubs.
National Finalists will agree to participate in the filming and broadcast of the event in a one hour special broadcast of the ESPN National Golf Challenge Finals on ESPN2, which will air on ESPN 2, December 17, 9:00 a.m. local time (PST)
