Budget Conscience Las Vegas Golf Outings & Meetings
|
Las Vegas, NV - 2/27/2009 -
To address the growing budget crunch impacting meeting planners, Walters Golf has unveiled some very innovation and attractively priced programs for groups who are coming to Las Vegas and want to include golf in their program.
“We find that our groups’ are facing two major budget challenges: Money and Time,” said Brennan Blednick, Senior Director of Sales for Walters Golf, “High green fees and a five or six hour golf outing just may not be feasible for many groups who need to squeeze the most out of their Vegas business schedule.”
To accommodate those groups, yet still offer them the golf experience at some of Vegas’ finer facilities, Walter Golf has developed a “Meet-n-Play” program. The concept is a luncheon meeting followed by nine holes of golf.
“Each of our facilities have complete meeting and banquet space and accommodate hundreds of non-golf related events,” added Mr. Blednick, “It was just logical to package the meeting and golf together at a discounted price. This allows meeting planners the flexibility of using the six or so hours generally allotted for a golf outing and in that same time allow their attendees to experience golf and get in more meeting time. To speed up the golf experience, without short changing the golfers, we use special formatting like a front gun allowing the entire group to tee off at the same time, rather than having to wait until each attendee tees off. Additionally we can provide rentals of the latest in Callaway golf clubs.”
The Meet-n-Play program components include lunch (sit down or buffet), private meeting space and golf. Prices for the Meet-n-Play programs start from $99 pp. Variables include the course, menu and date. Walters Golf can also make local transportation arrangements and offer special pricing for attendees who stay over and want to get in some extra golf.
“All of our facilities have A/V rentals, lower food and beverage minimums than the hotels and professional banquet staff allowing for turn-key arrangements for planners,” said Michael Levine, Director of Marketing for Walters Golf. “Additionally all of our three courses are less than 20 minutes from the heart of the Strip, which means the traveling time to and from our courses is the shortest in Las Vegas.”
All three Walters Golf courses are located less than nine miles from the heart of the Strip and each provides a very unique round enabling golfers to experience “golf from around the world.”
Groups can be transported to the sandhills of the Carolinas in the middle of the desert at Desert Pines Golf Club, often referred to as the “Pinehurst” of Vegas. Desert Pines was host to the Golf Channel’s very popular Big Break II and also is home to the area’s only two-tiered, climate controlled Practice Center featuring automatic ball delivery. This unique facility also offers groups the chance to hold teaching clinics taught by PGA professionals.
Another Walters Golf option is to be transported “across the pond” to experience 18 of the best holes from 11 different British Open rotation courses at the Royal Links Golf Club. Here golfers enjoy holes inspired by the likes of the “Postage Stamp” at Royal Troon and the “Road Hole” and “Hell Bunker’ from the Old Course at St. Andrews. There are also two holes from Royal Birkdale, site of this year’s Open. The clubhouse is a castle.
And the crown jewel in the Walters Golf stable of courses is the Bali Hai Golf Club. It is a tropical paradise reminiscent of the South Pacific and is the only public championship course located directly on the Strip. Recognized as one of the “Top Resort Courses in America” by GolfWeek, “Best High-end Resort Course” by VegasGolfer, Bali Hai was Host Course for the inaugural “High Stakes Golf Tour” and ranked as one of “America’s Top Golf Courses” by Zagat. The meeting facility at Bali Hai is the award winning Cili Restaurant www.cili.com with a capacity of up to 1500 and offering private meeting and dining space with indoor and patio seating overlooking the spectacular blue lagoon and towering palm trees of the golf course.
