Consistent with the tradition found at many of the world’s finer clubs, professional caddies and forecaddies are offered by Walters Golf.
Not many golfers have had the opportunity to enjoy a round using the services of a caddie. While the use of the caddie is optional, you owe it to yourself at least once to enjoy a round like it is played at the highest level. Caddies and forecaddies are independent contractors and like many in the Las Vegas ‘hospitality’ field, they rely almost exclusively on gratuities for their income. Forecaddies are available at Bali Hai Golf Club and Royal Links Golf Club. A service gratuity for forecaddies of $35 per golfer is customary, based on your satisfaction with the level of service provided. Those who wish to walk the course must take a walking caddie and their suggested gratuity is $95 per bag. Gratuities should be paid directly to caddies upon completion of the round.
What exactly does a forecaddie do? According to course owner Bill Walters, “They’ll do all the things a caddie will do for you except carry the bags. They’ll locate balls, first and foremost, which should cut down a lot of time and should make the round a lot more enjoyable. And they’ll give you the yardages so you know exactly what to hit, and they’ll take care of all the little housekeeping things that are normally up to the players.”
For serious golfing situations, Forecaddies are defined as an “Outside Agency.” That is any agency not part of the match or, in stroke play, not part of the competitor’s side.
